Lock Your World from Bad Orb wins Industriepreis 2012 – Elektrotechnik (Industrial Prize 2012 - Electrical Engineering)

Out of 500 applications pylocx - the maintenance-free locking system - has made the running. A jury of 30 experts decided: Bad Orb is leading in the area of electrical engineering. On April 23, Lock Your World was awarded the INDUSTRIEPREIS for Elektrotechnik in Hannover as one of the best and most efficient industrial companies. Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Bruno O. Braun, president of VDI and chairman of TÜV Rhineland’s supervisory board, stressed in his speech: “The German business location is unique particularly in its small and medium-sized businesses with their many ‘Hidden Champions’ belonging to diverse areas of expertise and often among the world market leaders. What makes these firms so strong is that they back technical innovations in a pragmatic and market-driven way. The initiative ‘Mittelstand’ wants to honour precisely this innovative enthusiasm with its Industriepreis 2012. It primarily aims at the German industry’s many small and middle-sized firms. In order to do justice to the diversity of these businesses, the prize will be awarded in 14 categories, among them the currently emergent area of energy and environment.” Lock Your World had already caused a sensation with its tubular safe and PIN-code-secured transponder. It is being installed throughout Germany to protect mobile communications stations. By now, Bad Orb’s reference list also includes recent nationwide commissions in server rack security as well as in solutions for safes. The business is expanding and moving into additional facilities to enhance production. These are the prospects: the profile-cylinder system with its retractable outside-knob is being certified by VdS and will be available from autumn onward for takers having already registered for the first deliveries. Things stay exciting. For further information see www.industriepreis.de
