Self-sufficient and offline locking systems are the most secure

On the one hand, digital logistics is experimenting with blockchain concepts and container tracking, on the other hand, you will often only find plastic seals on the containers of shipping companies. Traceable physical security looks different.

Safe closure elements would be required especially where the transport industry is concerned with the dispatch of sensitive components. An electronic security technology that allows central access or access management to be implemented with physical security has been developed by the medium-sized Lock Your World GmbH & Co. KG. The system is called pylocx and is a maintenance-free locking system with central data management for generating one-time codes. Maintenance-free above all because the locking components require neither power supply nor batteries. The power to open the lock is supplied by a pyKey during the opening process. This pyKey is a mobile keypad, a personal opening medium that every authorized user receives. This enables the user to open pylocx locking systems, which are available in different versions for containers such as pallet housings or transport cases and boxes as well as trolleys, but also for doors, gates and vehicles. The pylocx locks are functionally reliable from -40 °C to +65 °C, function even in the event of a blackout and are independent of the Internet or radio systems. They are therefore immune to any radio-controlled or net-based attacks.

To open a container containing sensitive components, a user must use a valid one-time code. He receives this together with his order, e.g. sent to his or her smartphone. The one-time codes are automatically generated in a database. This database communicates with the order, ticket or route planning system of the logistics company. In this way, central processing and a flexible transfer of liability can be implemented: It is always documented centrallyand in an audit-proof manner who has carried out lock openings. In addition, 3,000 events are recorded in the lock itself.

The Lock Your World founder Manuela Engel-Dahan is also one of the most important identification figures for women in the economy. Most recently, the lateral entrant spoke in February as a role model entrepreneur at the start-up fair "Aufschwung 2018" in Frankfurt am Main, where she was already named Entrepreneur of the Year in 2011.

At the time, she reported on her experiences in a three-part podcast interview with MittelstandsWiki:
