K-EINBRUCH — Burglary protection works!

After years of decline, the number of domestic burglaries has been rising again since 2009. According to police crime statistics, the figure was 152,123 cases in 2014, an increase of 1.8 percent over the previous year.

Together with cooperation partners from the insurance industry, industry associations and installation companies, the police therefore launched the nationwide publicity campaign K-EINbruch in autumn 2012. The aim is to sensitise the population to take responsibility for burglary prevention in order to ultimately reduce burglary crime. The patronage of the initiative has been assumed by Federal Minister of the Interior Dr. Thomas de Maizière. Kristina Vogel, 2012 Olympic champion in the team sprint track cycling and policewoman with the Federal Police, is a K-EINbruch Furthermore, numerous companies and associations have joined the K-EINbruch network and support the initiative.

Day of burglary protection

Another important part of the campaign is the "Day of Intrusion Protection". Under the motto "One hour more for more security", this takes place annually on the day of the time changeover when Central European Summer Time ends. Take advantage of the extra hour thus gained to learn about burglary protection and to implement the police's security recommendations in your everyday life.
