You only go to the lock when you want to open it

Abolish maintenance costs for access systems at decentralized locations

Bad Orb. Our modern and technologically advanced society depends on a highly reliable infrastructure. Disruptions and failures, e.g. in energy and water supply or in emergency and rescue services, can therefore cause considerable economic damage. This can also directly affect large parts of the population. For this reason, the protection of "critical infrastructures" is an extremely important task of preventive security policy.

KRITIS requires special protection
These requirements must be taken into account. Here it is necessary to select a suitable access system that meets the high security requirements and ensures trouble-free and highly available functional security.

Whoever has to secure decentralized locations is therefore confronted with many questions. What needs to be secured? Are several service providers in use? Are there many keys in circulation? Do complex key collections have to be organized? Is there trouble with clogged, taped or frozen locks? Is there an access system that meets the requirements?

Central management of highly secure offline systems
Lock Your World has been dealing with these issues for years and has developed a tailor-made access system for the decentralized locations of utilities. The "pylocx" system is the first and to date also the only system that has been certified for use in the secure supply chain (“SiLKe”) by BSI, the German Federal Office for Information Security, and is therefore mandatory. The transport containers and pallet housings are used to transport Smart Meter Gateways (SMGW) from manufacture to installation.
It therefore makes sense that energy suppliers are also considering pylocx as an access system. After all, they already have the necessary pyKeys (mobile keyboards that also supply the electricity) in their homes, or will soon have them.

Key management eliminated and locks de-energized
"pylocx" lock systems are maintenance-free, powerless and offline. The components are synchronized once in a database and provided with the security features. Then every user gets his or her personal pyKey. This remains with the user. In case of loss he or she can sleep peacefully, because the pyKey cannot be abused. Access codes for planned site visits are automatically generated in the database. The user receives the one-time code together with his or her order and for his or her personal pyKey. With his or her pyKey he or she can serve all locations registered in the database. Lock Your World calls this the "pylocx sleeper function". Key management no longer exists. Everything is automated. Additional employees or authorization changes, key losses, and all data corrections are also recorded centrally. No one has to go to the lock, no one has to synchronize on site! That's good for the environment, too, which was also important to the Lock Your World team!

Well-known references
pylocx has been in use at many thousands of locations for several years. The secure supply chain sector is a predestined market for a system that is offline and protected against attacks from the network. In addition to high security, freedom from maintenance is a major factor for decentralized locations. Anyone who has to manage thousands of locations knows what it costs to replace batteries every year, or even stands in front of a locked door because the battery no longer emits a sign of life. Those responsible for access security should take a closer look at "pylocx".
